Environment

YTV strives to continually reduce our environmental impact.

From little things like recycling and reducing paper use to big things like converting from propane to electric forklifts, adopting solar energy to reduce electricity use, and actively participating in tire recovery and recycling programs, we believe no effort is too small and everything adds up to help the Earth.

Solar Panels

Our warehouse facility in Edmonton, servicing all western Canada customers, is 100% powered with solar energy. 900+ solar modules generating up to 526,608 KWh/year, not only cover our internal energy consumption, but also generate energy that is sent back to the power grid to maximize cost effectiveness and positive environmental impact.

Electric Forklifts

We use electric forklifts to move our tires in both of our warehouse facilities. Zero emissions, reduced noise and better stability create better work conditions for our team while helping the environment.

Savings: 3,000 lb of propane per year equivalent to 4.5 ton of CO2 emissions.

Rubber bands

We are in the process of eliminating plastic wraps and replacing them by rubber pallet bands to secure tire loads in warehouses. Rubber Pallet Bands offer a low-cost, reusable, and environmentally friendly solution. Rubber bands are sustainable as they reduce plastic waste and disposal cost.

Estimated Savings: 200 rolls of plastic wrap x 4,000 ft long equivalent to 1,800 pounds of plastic per year.

GIVING BACK TO COMMUNITIES BY SUPPORTING CHARITIES

The success of YTV is built on trust and good relations with the communities in which we sell our products and in which our employees and customers live and work. YTV strives to be a good corporate citizen by giving back to those communities by supporting local charities, non profit societies, as well as other various community causes.

Volunteer Hours

In 2023, our team shared close to 250 volunteering hours with the community, working with children and youth, food banks and healthcare activities.
