YOKOHAMA LAUNCHES A NEW LONG-HAUL DRIVE TIRE, THE 712L

Yokohama Tires has introduced a new long-haul drive tire, the 712L.

According to Yokohama, the new tire meets the performance criteria required by the long-haul transportation sector for winter service. Manufactured at Yokohama’s West Point, Mississippi facility, the four available 712L sizes – 295/75R22.5, 11R22.5, 285/75R24.5 and 11R24.5, display the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol on their sidewalls.

“The three-peak mountain snowflake symbol attests to the capabilities of the 712L in severe weather conditions,” explains Diana Colosimo, Director of Brand Development at Yokohama Tires Canada. Thanks to its deep tread design, the 712L provides superb traction, exceptional wear resistance, peak energy efficiency, and tough, durable construction, making it an excellent year-round tire for fleets.”

712L Overview:

Wear resistance: The 30/32-inch tread depth provides exceptional durability and traction without compromising fuel efficiency, explains Yokohama. In addition, stress control grooves reduce contact pressure at the tread surface edge, providing increased resistance to shoulder step-down wear while promoting long, even wear. The 712L flat footprint controls ground contact pressure and improves resistance to irregular tread wear.

Efficiency and traction: The fuel-efficient tread compound is engineered to reduce rolling resistance without compromising wear performance. Straight and angled sipes, as well as zig-zag intermediate grooves, provide greater radial and lateral traction. Straight circumferential outer grooves facilitate water evacuation and enhance traction even in extreme weather conditions.

Durability: Funnel-shaped grooves prevent stones and other debris from reaching the bottom of the grooves where casing damage often occurs. The premium casing of the 712L is so tough, Yokohama offers a 7-Year, Unlimited Retread Warranty.
